ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Lyse Deselliers was born and raised in Quebec City. Her early career focused on working with animals - first as a veterinarian, and later, after relocating to Alberta, with wildlife and companion animals. All along she pursued her interest in painting, taking night classes at the Alberta College of Art and studying three years with Karen Swearengen at the Swinton’s studio. Lyse also joined the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Canadian Institute of Portrait Artists and regularly participated in group shows, did commissions and displayed her work in a number of galleries.

Lyse moved to Penticton, BC in 2016, and has continued to deepen her skill and talent. Her paintings are easily recognizable because of the vivid colours she loves to use and modern treatment of her subjects. Working with acrylic, she likes experimenting with texture, mixed media and light dancing on surfaces.
